Committees

Active involvement in one or more of our committees affords members even greater opportunity to achieve networking and business development goals.

As a member of a Committee, you will:
  • gain greater insight toward issues affecting the Chamber and local business community
  • access a forum to voice your opinions and help influence decisions
  • attain a more direct opportunity to build or forge new business relationships with other chamber members

NETWORKING GROUPS

AMBASSADOR
Meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month @ 4:00 p.m.
This committee’s primary goal is to maintain membership retention and promote goodwill throughout the Chamber.   Ambassadors are the welcoming representatives at Chamber Breakfasts, Business After Hours, Ribbon Cuttings and Special Events.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Meets the 1st Tuesday of the month @ 8:00 a.m.
This committee enhances business development in the area and also provides programs, services and educational opportunities.   Committee members coordinate business building seminars and speakers, the annual Business and Community Expo and Small Business Person of the Year selection.

EDUCATION
Meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month @ 8:00 a.m.
This committee creates activities and programs to enhance the communication and understanding between the business community and all of the public and private educational institutions in the Davie/Cooper City area.  In addition to providing the program for the November Education Breakfast, the committee promotes business and school partnerships and mentoring programs and administers the annual grant and scholarship for the Education Foundation.

GOVERNMENT/ECONOMIC AFFAIRS
Meets the 2nd Thursday of the month @ 4:00 p.m. 
This committee seeks to protect interests and further encourage economic development  of the Davie/Cooper City community through evaluation of pending legislation and maintaining the lines of communication and discussion with governmental entities at all levels.  The committee coordinates candidates’ night forums, coordinates the annual legislative appreciation breakfast and provides feedback to the Board on proposed economic development projects in the Davie/Cooper City communities.

MARKETING
Meets the 1st Tuesday of the month @ 4:00 a.m.
This committee promotes a consistent message about the Chamber and facilitates
avenues for getting that message to the public.  In addition to assisting with the promotion of Chamber events and programs, the committee has oversight of the web site and all written Chamber publications.

Meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month @ 8:00 a.m.
This committee creates innovative programs to obtain and retain members.  They provide fellowship, networking and shared business opportunities for Chamber members.

WOMEN IN BUSINESS
Meets the 4th Tuesday of the month @ 4:00 p.m.
This committee's mission is to promote awareness of women's issues in areas of business, health, and community commitment. We are dedicated to empowering women to integrate their gained knowledge into their professional and personal lives.
